This morning both Nintendo of America and Europe will be hosting Nintendo Direct presentations. Both Directs will be geared toward Nintendo’s 3DS system, but no further information has been given about the program. Gamers everywhere are speculating all manner of wild guesswork, with The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask and The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past at the top of everyone’s lists. You can expect to see more on Mario & Luigi’s Dream Team, more eShop deals, and perhaps further celebratory stuffs regarding The Year of Luigi — similar to February’s Direct presentation.
We’ll be covering the entire Nintendo Direct webcast live from our desk chairs, and updating viewers with images and commentary as the news comes. Keep tabs on this page, where you yourself can stream today’s 3DS Direct presentation. So throw a pot of coffee on, put some pop tarts in the toaster, and join us at 7AM PST//10AM EST!

Post-show apologies: The video player used for our showing of the Nintendo Direct was not our own. 8-bit does not endorse in-video advertisements. We had trouble with Ustream and grabbed the first video at hand, with your viewership in mind. Thank you for tuning in.

A new Legend of Zelda game is to be released on the 3DS. It will take place in the same universe as A Link to the Past. Link will also be able to transform into a drawing, and move on walls. The game will feature a top-down aesthetic, and allow players to utilize the 3DS 3D via height differentials in dungeons. We are absolutely stoked.

Donkey Kong Country Returns for the 3DS has been optimized for portability. 3DS developers have added more hearts for both Diddy and Donkey, allowing players to be bopped five times over three.
